Local artist Jo Pearl's latest work, Unearthed, first shown
World Soil Science Congress, Florence 20 May. is being shown for the first time in the UK in Alchemy at OmVed Gardens, 1 Townsend YardHighgate, London N65JF.
The work explores the hidden world beneath our feet, bringing the topic of soil biodiversity to life via kinetic ceramics and clay stop-frame animation. In a germaphobic world, Pearl is attempting to charm her audiences with her take on the amazing mycelium, microbes and mini-bugs in healthy soil, so that they fall in love with this biome teeming with life.
